NAPLAN ASSESSMENT

About NAPLAN

NAPLAN, or the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy, is the testing set by the Australian Government to determine if Australian students are meeting the educational outcomes required for their age group.  NAPLAN testing is completed when students are in years 3, 5, 7 & 9, and compares all students across Australia.

NAPLAN is not meant to be stressful; it is meant to be a tool to discover areas that can be improved in each child’s learning.  Unfortunately, being an ‘assessment’ or test, it does become competitive, and children can’t help but be stressed around performing well academically, plus, reading and writing (literacy) is a huge component of the assessment.

When your child is given the tools and skill to navigate what is required in NAPLAN testing, they no longer feel stressed or anxious. If they have been working through The Writing Club programs, they will be able to approach the test knowing they have the advanced skills and confidence to take NAPLAN in their stride.
As a parent, with children only being assessed with NAPLAN every two years, it can sometimes feel like you don’t know how your child is doing academically for long periods of time. With The Writing Club programs working closely with the Australian Curriculum, our qualified teachers can give you valuable feedback, right now, as to what level of literacy your child is achieving.
Ensure your child is well-prepared for NAPLAN by providing the reassurance and confidence The Writing Club programs will bring.
